Thrust ball bearings are designed to carry axial loads only, and they can’t take any radial loads. They can usually be found in the application of vertical shaft. KSS thrust ball bearings are available in types of single direction thrust ball bearings and double direction thrust ball bearings.
Single direction thrust ball bearings consist of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a ball and cage assembly. They can support axial loads only in one direction. Therefore, they are usually used in matched sets.
Double direction thrust ball bearings consist of one shaft washer, two housing washers and two ball and cage assemblies. They can support axial loads only in both directions.
