Spherical roller bearings are double row, self-retaining units comprising inner rings with two raceways inclined at an angle to the bearing axis , outer rings with a common sphered raceway, spherical rollers, cages and in certain designs also internal guide rings or center rings. The bearings can also be sealed.
Due to the spherical internal shape of the outer ring and spherical rollers, the spherical roller bearings are self-aligning and insensitive to misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing, which can be caused, for example, by shaft deflection. They can accommodate both heavy radial load and axial loads.
KSS spherical roller bearings are available in types of EA, CC, CA and MB. Types EA and CC have pressed steel cage, while types CA and MB have brass cage. Type EA has especially high load capacity, features low torque, and has a high-strength cage.
Spherical roller bearings are widely used in construction machinery, paper machine, gear box, vibration screen, etc.
